As the Vice President of Global Planning and Logistics, Mr. Fries is responsible for managing Planning and Logistics Operations.

With over 30 years of leadership positions at Avnet Technology Solutions, Motorola and Michelin, Mr. Fries brings to SMTC a broad experience in both manufacturing and distribution. As the Vice President of Avnet Technology Solutions Supply Chain Operations, his team supported over $6B in sales including the integration with Tech Data. Prior to this position, Mr. Fries held leadership positions at Avnet and Michelin including greenfield supply chain solutions for PC manufacturing, global procurement services, and embedded solutions. He also held manufacturing leadership positions in Industrial Engineering and Production Management at Michelin Tire.

Mr. Fries has a Master of Business degree from Clemson and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan. Mr. Fries honorably served 5 years in the US Navy as a Nuclear Powered Submarine Officer.
