MC Assembly’s Wellness Team Holds Spring Olympics CrossFit Event

MC Assembly’s Wellness Team recently held its latest fitness event, a CrossFit competition called the Spring Olympics and hosted by Maverick CrossFit in Melbourne. Twenty-five employees participated in the event which consisted of competitions in running, jumping, rowing, biking, burpees, and pulling weight sleds across the parking lot. The winning team consisted of Carmen Miranda, Chelita Larry and Junior Osorio.

“Everyone had a great time, there was great showmanship, motivation and everyone worked as a team, no one left behind,” said Carmen Miranda, a Program Administrator at MC Assembly, who was part of the winning team.

Previous to this, the Wellness Team participated in a 5k charity race “Run for the Shade”, which helped raise funds for a local school. MC Assembly’s Wellness Team promotes health and wellness as part of the company’s culture by choosing a fitness event for the company to participate in each quarter. In addition to participating in fitness events, the wellness team coordinates annual wellness checks, quarterly blood drives and annual flu shots.

“The wellness team was created to make fitness initiatives fun and bring our team together outside of the plant,” said Brian Kingston, MC Assembly’s Human Resources Director. “Events like these allow for us to strengthen our company culture and internal relationships.”
