Alex Walker
President and Co- Chief Executive Officer
As co-CEO of SMTC, Mr. Walker is ultimately responsible for achieving bottom line results including overseeing finance and overall operational performance.
Prior to joining SMTC in 2008, Mr. Walker served as President of Ecosystem and as Managing Partner for Rouge River Capital. Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
Claude Germain
President and Co-Chief Executive Officer As co-CEO of SMTC, Mr. Germain is accountable for driving the top line of the business including business development, marketing and account management.
Prior to SMTC, Mr. Germain was EVP / COO of Schenker of Canada Ltd., one of Canada’s largest transportation and logistics companies. As a former management consultant specializing in manufacturing and distribution for The Boston Consulting Group, Mr. Germain has extensive experience in global supply chain management and manufacturing. In 2002 and 2007, Mr. Germain won Canadian Executive of the Year in Logistics. Mr. Germain holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering Physics (Nuclear) from Queen’s University.
Paul Blom
Executive Vice President, Operations
As EVP, Operations of SMTC, Mr. Blom is responsible for engineering, manufacturing operations and supply chain management on a global basis.
Prior to joining SMTC, Mr. Blom was a founding executive of Celestica and served as Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain. Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Rotman School of Business.
Betsy Smith
Vice President, Human Resources
As VP, Human Resources of SMTC, Ms. Smith is responsible for organizational effectiveness, training, talent management and all aspects of human resources for SMTC employees worldwide while driving culture-shaping initiatives that provide both innovation and empowerment.
Prior to joining SMTC in 2005, Ms. Smith served as Director of Human Resources for Sobeys and as Corporate Manager, Human Resources for Maple Leaf Foods. With over twenty-five year’s experience, Betsy has had great success in defining recruiting and retention strategies that translate well within the competitive EMS industry.
